Default St Ives CC Techniflo RR

Thanks to the riders whose quality of riding was noted by Stuart Benstead, the Chief Commissaire. Thanks also to the marshals, BC NEG rider Nigel and Photo finish guy John all of whom were faultless.

Congrats to Tyler and Cambridge CC; a very impressive strong ride. I hope someone else will be able to give an account of, what seemed to be, a very interesting race.

    And it was dry!

3 riders got away early but only managed 25secs max, as soon as they were joined by a fourth rider they moved away a bit more. The bunch (in my opinion) weren't collectively trying to work to get the break back. A few attacks were made but it seemed the same 5 or 6 riders were doing the work. With 3 laps to go Tyler Denmead had a dig on the farm hill and the bunch just split into 3 parts.
The chase group got the break and then there were 11. 3 riders were dropped and the bunch galloped in for 9th place!
    Pretty much sums it up!!!

Well done to the organiser and all the helpers, a very safe race as usual...love it! Shame i missed the points (and prizes) by 1 place! Teaches me to attack just before the race favourite, and eventual winner puts in his effort!!!
Only stop pedalling hard when bleeding stops.

Sorry, Nick. I would have said something before you decided to work so hard. You should have asked

Thanks everybody for a well-organised and safe race.

Thanks to all the organisers, marshalls and helpers in making today's race a lot of fun and very safe. It's a shame I didn't finish it. Maybe next year!!

Yup, bunch was well strung out around the rough stretch around hill top farm, but it was when the race turned left into the wind that these gaps got stretched right out. Over the next 1/2 lap the rear end of the field gelled into 2 chase groups, but by the look of the results they did not ever catch the lead bunch.
