Grim weather -- results sheet doesn't show that the ELV guys came in over two minutes ahead of (what was left of) the bunch.

Great race. Thanks to all of the race marshals. It was not nice conditions to be standing on the side of the road, especially the first few laps....

Well done to all those who took part in today's race.
Thanks to all the marshals etc on what was a damn horrible day. Someone up there was taking the mickey when the sun started shining on the last lap!!!
The bunch apparently blew apart on the 1st lap at the bottom of that downhill section and that "river" that ran through the course!
Good ride by the ELV boys. The gap sat there at 35 secs for ages. I can't believe we got that 1st break back at about half-way!

I appologise for not turning up today, probably had further to travel than most and must admit the severe torrential rain on the roads in the morning did put me off racing. Well done to those who got stuck in, in what looked like awfull conditions!

I punctured after 30 miles but was had a really good time - good riding by everone in pretty treacherous conditions

Someone up there was taking the mickey when the sun started shining on the last lap!!!

It is a pity you got a punture when the sun came out, with only a mile and a half to the finish. Brian said you need to get some wet weather tyres when you come to Essex. Or did the rain have something to do with Ben coming to race.

That is when Brian threw me out of the car to do the photo finish. The chief judge complained as he was soaked, he asked if I had a direct line to him up there in charge of weather.

You're quite right Andy, fair weather track racing is a lot more appealing to me than a windy rainy road race
