Default Ed Taylor Road Race 2008

    Hi Guys,
The closing date for the ED Taylor road race 2008 is now upon us and I have a full field of 70 riders and 5 reserves (subject to confirmation from those set as reserves who I have already e-mailed).
Please note that I am NOT taking any more entries.

I am trying to put as much money back into the race as I can and will e-mail as many of those as possible with the start sheet to save on the postage costs which will allow more prize money...

Those who are on the start sheet will be contacted by the end of this week.

    Thanks

    Nigel

    Hi Guys,
I hope everything is sorted now for the ED Taylor rr and I will have no more problems with the start sheet or anything else.
Please, if you have received the FINAL VERSION start sheet, let your team mates know and anybody else you will be seeing who is on it.
For your SAT NAV's if you want help in getting there, the post code for THURLOW is:

    CB9 7LJ

I hope this helps those of you who are not aware of the venue??

See You on the 16th March

    Default Ed Taylor Weather Forecast

    Hi Guys,
I've had a look and it is looking like being a damp start to the race and then drying out as the race progresses.
Unfortunately, light winds are forecast so it's gonna be a little easier than previous years.
Hopefully the primes and points competition will whittle it down a little??

See you all on Sunday, Don't be late!!!

Will you be allowing riders to get away in the neutralized section again this year?

The race is neutralised until the riders reach the start/finish line.
The lead car is never more than 100m ahead of the bunch climbing the hill.
It used to be less but then we had people thinking it funny to hold on the the car (Safety Issue) so those at the back of the bunch might feel that riders are "getting away" in the neutralised section but this has never been the case. Maybe riding at the front this year might settle any confusion???

    Hi Guys,
If you are using Sat Nav to get to the race the local post code is: CB9 7LJ

That should get you pretty near the HQ.

    See You on Sunday.

I did start at the front last year, that's how I know that one rider got a gap on the bunch in the neutralised section and was left to go up the road.

Default Ed Taylor Rr Latest Updates

    Hi Troops,
I have had a few phone calls from pre entered riders who are unable to attend tomorrows race. This now means ALL reserves WILL have a ride tomorrow.
I have permission to start 70 riders so I will be open to EOL's.

To make it as fair as possible for anybody who EOL's, in the event that I get 8 EOL's and only have 3 places available, I will put all names in a hat and draw 3.
    THEY will get the rides.
It may not seem fair in some eyes but to me it is the fairest way for everybody...

I will keep updates on here throughout the day until I go to bed tonight.
I will be on the circuit tomorrow morning from 06:30. If anybody needs to get hold of me, my mobile is: 07956 048249.
I will appreciate any calls from riders who will not be able to make the start.
Signing on opens at 08:30 and closes at 09:15.
I'm NOT getting older, I'm just going "Rapidly Down Hill" :-)
