Thread: Finsbury Park Road Race

    Default Finsbury Park Road Race

Can I just highlight that the organiser for the Finsbury Park road race is
    Nathaniel Spurling
    209 Chart House
    Burrells Wharf
    London
    E14 3JN

and not Alister Scott as currently shown in the event details. For anyone that has already sent me an entry I will forward them on to Nathaniel.

Congratulations to Jan "the man" Strapek! Interbike & ERRL Star rider!!

Some great teamwork today from Sean, Trev and Jan at Steeple but alas misfortune with Jans handlebars at the 40mile mark, meant Sean exhanged not only his bike, but also his shoes! and what nice shoes there were too Sean? - our newly appointed team style & fashion consultant [those were his own words - not mine!]

Jan chased desperately and held the gap at around 2mins behind what was left of the main field.
Meanwhile upfront, the break held on with Ben Price? [Rapha Condor] taking the honours from 5 others on the Steeple Hill. Ben Thompson finished just behind the chasing group with a minor placing so Jan's first place in the league was well and truly safe and in the bag for 2006.
[Ben needed 3rd or better and Jan not to score]
Jan incidently, going like the clappers, crashed on the left hander into the finishing road but picked himself up [a few grazes] and rode up the hill and over the line
ironically finishing about 2 mins behind Thompson for another minor placing - but hey, what a ride and what a race as the last one for ERRL 2006!

    cheers

I'm sure things would have been different if Ben had been allowed to ride his own club's road race.
Hopefully we will find the answer to this madness one day

Dan - how come you were riding? Thought you'd been an Elite for a while now?

Sorry Dan, you've missed my point - how come an Elite rider was riding a National C race?
