Default Ken Wright Memorial Road Race Result 18th May 2014

A close run race for the 2 leaders, in glorious conditions for racing.
After Chris Bartlett had tried to shake off Andrew Hastings in the last lap, Andrew struck with 300 yards to go in a final sprint, a worthy Champion.

Good race, real shame there was not another lap or two with a few groups coming up towards the leaders on the last lap but running out of time to close them down.

there was loads, probably dave would tell you more, but as far as I know, a triathlon, orienteering thingy, and a christening, all around the finish straight(that was used every lap because the course had to be changed because of said triathlon !) I thought dave was very calm !!

Found out Friday there was a running race starting at the hare and hounds at 10 am for 100 people, although running off road they had to cross the course. Saturday found out there was a christening at the church on the route, and then on Sunday morning found out there was a tri event on the route of the course, so after a risk assessment we changed courses. Not that it bothered the riders, after I had put together the race programme, with a detailed description of the route, including map, when we changed it to the new course, they all thought they were racing on the new course ANYWAY. LOL

Seems the KW wasn't the only road race to meet another event trying to use the same bit of road:
