  1. Race at Wittenheim

Greetings from sunny Alsace, this last week saw spring get a bit closer to arriving. Its a whole lot warmer here at the moment and fingers crossed it will remain that way. My brother, Mark joined us from Zurich on Friday to sample the full time cyclist lifestyle for the day. We were meant to do more than just go for a ride, walk around town and then rampage the streets of Vice City on the Playstation but nothing more than this happened. So basically he sampled a typically boring day rather than ...

  2. Season Opener

Its the day after my first race in Alsace, and my sober and considered opinion is that it turned out as well as could be expected for the first race of the season. We were told it was going to be flat, 130k and near Etupes (home of the DN1 squad CC Etupes), only one of the aforementioned three things turned out to be true (... and CC Etupes are very strong by the way). We had eleven laps of a very windblown circuit with a nasty little hill and a cross wind over the top, which split and reformed ...

  3. Wilkommen a Mulhouse?

    Salut,

I wasn't planning on posting again until after my first race on Sunday but I've already accrued a blog's worth of thoughts, experiences and happenings! I reached Mulhouse on Tuesday morning having slept in my car only 60k away from my destination in a service station parking lot the night before. I decided I was just getting too tired so I pulled over, Its amazing how far you can drive, keeping your energy and alertness up just by eating Haribo sweets. But in the same way that ...

  4. Spring training

I hope everyone has been enjoying the ice whilst I've been away in sunny Lanzarote. It was great for a number of reasons: I could wear shorts and short sleeve jerseys, it didn't rain, when I turned a corner I didn't fall off and slide down the road on my already battered and bruised body and lastly, because the bolt on the top of my headset didn't get even rustier with 'turbo sweat'. Also, the surroundings were a whole lot better than the view from my rollers as the first attached photo (at the ...

  5. Victim of road rage

It has been deemed that my life is now sufficiently interesting enough that I should have my own dedicated blog, whose sole purpose is to report, comment and unashamedly promote (in an unbiased manner) all matters cycling concerning myself. Well, thats how an arrogant twat would put it anyway. After some persistent prodding from a few people over the past couple of years who've been reading my posts on the Cambridge CC forum I've decided to get my own blog. I've always been wary of doing this because ...
