Some of you may be aware*that I more often wear*a camera or an SSE tee shirt these days*than a*star-spangled skinsuit.*Some of my photos, taken around Essex and Hertfordshire, appear in the 2005 Community Calendar, and*I'm again leading Stop Stansted Expansion's*Calendar and Christmas card fund-raising*exercise.

Last year the card and calendar*project was the biggest single fund-raiser for the campaign that seeks to stop Stansted Airport growing to more than 25 million passengers a year. It's currently at 21 million and BAA wants it to grow to 80 million. That compares with Heathrow's 60 million today and would*turn the beautiful lanes around the E1 into yet another*characterless, noisy, congested urban sprawl. There are far bigger arguments than that rather nimby statement, like global warming and the UK balance of trade deficit, but I won't go into those just now.

The next big step of our campaign will come in December when we will be asking the High Court to overturn the Government's Air Transport White Paper - the policy document that said Stansted should quadruple in size. High Court actions don't come cheap, and that's one of the reasons we need to keep raising funds.

The superb photo of Hatfield Forest in the snow that features on our Christmas card is not one of mine, but I'm still trying hard to drum up sales.
