Ladies and Gentlemen I have been operating a mini. survey in Thurrock over the last few weeks looking at cycling in the Borough after dark.
The results wre very dissapointing to say the least.
Of 100 cyclist noted 64% were riding without lights,this was not just youngsters but the Majority were adults.
Riding at night without lights is an offence and also very dangerous not only for yourselves but for other road and cycle path users.
The Police are going to take a more possitive attitude to this and people caught will receive a fixed penalty.I would urge you qall to wear high viz vests and make sure your cycle is fitted with lights.
