OK, since we've had our first ever ERRL Championship events, we now have two new champions - congratulations to Gary Baker and Rob Cox. Now, does anyone have a clever idea of what to call the 'third cat champion'? 'Cos I don't

I am sure Rob was the deserved winner on the day, he is a very strong rider but he was a 2nd cat and so not entitled to BC points. What is the position re the Championship? I am sure Adam Bedford would be pleased to know

I think he was 2nd cat after the event, I thought he only had 34 points before.

I noticed on the BC site when looking at the results that he is listed as 2nd and not given any points, of course he is entitled to ride as he entered while still a 3rd cat.

I think Rob should be called 'Leg Commander' and be forced to wear an RAF style bushy mustache for the rest of the season.
Included with the 'Leg Commander' title is the responsibility to issue the following phrases in a loud and authoritarian manner on every ride he goes on.
1. "Bandits at twelve o'clock" - to be used when an attack goes up the road, which the Leg Commander isn't in.
2. "Climb, climb, climb!" - to be used while on any accent.
3. "Tally Hoe" - to be used when he himself attacks.
4. "He's on my tail, i can't shake him off" - to be used in heroic bunch sprints
To be able to spot and honor the Leg Commander, the Leg Commander must wear a set of aviators and a long white scarf during racing. After the race the aviators are non compulsory, but advisable.

Having a look at the points, he got them on Saturday, this was on the Monday. There's nothing underhand about him riding, if he was a 2nd cat when he rode, he had only been one for 2 days, a little harsh to try to take away an as yet unnamed title. Perhaps it should be "Title for all those who are 3rd or 4th cats by the closing date for entries ERRL Criterium Championship". Rob started a few weeks ago as a 4th Cat, he deserves to win this.

BC Rules state that a rider is entitled to ride and claim prizes in events already entered before the rider had upgraded. Provided Rob was a pre-entrant, then I consider the title part of the 'prize', which I think he should keep. Is anyone in a position to confirm he was not EOL?

I think he deserves it too. He's completely dominated the racing so far this year and as soon as he gets moved-up we can get back to the normal stop start 3rd cat style of racing.
and anyway I overheard some guys talking in the HQ the otherday that he's actually just an experiment from the students at the uni ..........

He was asking before the weekend if anybody had got a start sheet for the crits, because he hadn't got one yet, so we can safely assume that he entered in advance. He won, got the title, fair and square.

Talking of titles, does anyone know if I kept my 'eastern division junior criterium champion' title at Ixworth this year? There was a junior in the elite race but he got 12th. If it's done on points BC then I got 2 more than him :? :?:

There was not an Eastern Division Criterium Championship at Ixworth. So the answer to your question is no.
There cannot be a Championship with riders in two different events.
