Ok people - for the last few years we've found ourselves stuck on the farmer's field at Mildenhall and we would all much rather be on the much nicer, smoother playing fields! Sooo we will need to send off bookings this week (!!!!!!!!!!!) in order to guarentee a place! We will need to book as a club in order to make sure we are all put together so contact us (the Tyas's) to let us know if you are coming (01245 400578).
A pitch is £20 for the weekend.
For those who haven't been before - it is excellent fun! Great atmosphere, loads of races to watch or participate in (grass track, youth and senior duathlons, madison cyclo-x, audax rides, map-reading challenges - the list goes on!). Theres always two days with a large marquee set up with dozens of stalls open offering good value goods that are on sale cheaper than in the shops - and there is also a second-hand jumble sale one evening as well. For 'Maldoners', there's always a large herd of us trundling up there armed with tents, bikes and chocolate cake; all pitched together and have a gazebo so we can all sit together and have a great laugh in the evenings!! :D People of all ages, shapes, sizes and characters turn up and all are welcome!
So give us a ring if you're coming (or are interested in knowing more) ASAP!!! (if we're not in - leave an answerphone message and we will get back to you promptly)

Look forward to hearing from you/seeing you there!
Rob

well my mission to win the 400m champs didn't quite work out - made the quarter finals but was edged out :( still made the top 16 (or as i finishd third in my heat il claim it is top 12 :D)

hoop race was a laugh - only gave in to 'bambi' when i realised that if he knocked me off there would be a lovely crunch as i landed on a lady in the crowd with a broken leg! so i let him have the hoop :P

seeing as all of my teammates for the team pursuit all suddenly applied for welsh citizenship i didnt ride that but was reserve for a few teams! but the others are forgiven seeing as they all did great rides in wales (apart from neil who just sat in the car and had wine and chocolates showered on him!!!! grrrrrrr - lazy lump  )

the beer festival was popular - i never thought id ever say that i enjoyed the taste of men of norfolk! (note - men of norfolk is a beer - i have not just been sponatenously slobberin the locals  ) and the live band made lots of friends with the cyclists - "how many of you are here with the pushbikes?? *a few hands go up* how do you do the pedally bit on the wobbly thing? *complete and utter silence* umm right *begins song*". strange fella

ah well - twas a good weekend! look forward to next year! :D
