back from the pie eating competion with my closest family..... standing next to my brothers these days is making me feel almost slim.
having missed all the riding so far this holiday just wanted to find out if there will be a ride saturday as normal or on the friday.
hope you all had a good xmas :D

I think the Saturday ride will be back to normal this coming Sat (I foresee a major hang over so I probably won't be out), some also want to do a ride on the Bank Holiday Monday as well.

Sat is unlikely as going to Marsha's party night before. Is anyone else going ?

Would be up for Monday though

I am up for Monday. What route - needs to be long? How about Flint Cross or a reverse of the route we did the other week, Ashwell then off towards Hexton and Lilley?

Probably saturday and monday, working tomorrow (Friday) if anyone fancies a ride to Brookmans Park at 8am.

Eastway Sunday 9th Jan, see Eastway thread for details, if Heph goes he will have his van / team bus.

Yep, which way do you ride out from PB, if I am ready early I might meet you. More than likely I will just get to the triangle on time!

Back at the desk with loads to do but hey ho.

Well done to all who made the fast ride a good solid kickin' on Monday. Hope you all got back OK. Bish, bet you are glad you didn't ride out to meet big'un on the way from PB.

What you want to do on Saturday?

i would still like to ride on saturday BUT !!!!! can we have a steady one so we have something left for sunday, dont want to be a namby pamby but a good steady ride with a tea stop would make a change.

If I was Hayden I would say that this is a sign of weakness

He's making a comeback you know? Probably February.

Elvis, he's making a comeback. He's got three feet to go!! Boom boom.

Or "Hayden, your back"

"What's wrong with my back"

More fun with punctuation from 'Eats, shoots and leaves'.

Which way out do ya pedal Big'un and Ill do ma best to meet ya on the road. With Hayden starting in Feb I will need all of the miles I can get.

you must be joking.... i want a nice easy warm up before i get to Tewin anyway i have had a word with george and he doesnt think you could handle the extra miles at this stage of your fitness... who is this Haden bloke, sounds like some 60s teacher.

can we stop for tea on saturday.... go on tone give us a treat i promise to let you sit on the front all the way home as i know you love it.

I am quite happy with the extra miles but I think they should be steady miles at the moment.

I thoroughly enjoyed last weeks bash but that doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.

Another issue is that in a mixed group we will all be riding at different levels, Tony could be on a nice level 2 ride, able to chat, and others are level 3 or 4, unable to reply (Tony thinks he's just being ignored :D )

What about a 3 1/2 hour ride upping the pace after 2 hours ?

I am quite happy with the extra miles but I think they should be steady miles at the moment..........What about an 8 1/2 hour ride at 24mph upping the pace to a level 30mph after 6 hours ?

After last weeks Bonk-a-rama, I'm all set for a nice pedal out to the Silver Spheroid with the single speed sensibles, for a large slab of bread pudding, a pint of tea and a Rennie. Can picture us all clambering over each other at Uncle Trev's "training race" already  Call me a sissy if ya' like, but I think I'll keep me' powder dry tomorrow and spend Saturday evening filing my teeth to points in preparation for the following days inevitable scrummage

Bish's ride suits me fine.

Not sure about his assessment of my ability - I can talk at olympic level but remain a "fish and chipper" as far as cycling goes.

Hey - Bish - Ruth got a place in the Marathon with a children's charity, PHAB I think. :?:

Hey Box er.

Broken foot - poor excuse. I heard some skinny american rode a bid race with a broken collar bone - what's your problem.

And you need a little picture to accompany your new name.

Hey Trev, its only a rep  A young bloke like you; we wanna see you giving "Teach" a good half-wheeling on Saturday morning  Personally, I'll be at the back, grimly adhering to the HR levels dictated by my Lance-a-like training regime and trying to set my tights on fire with my increased cadence
