The Pres was suggesting a ride on the BH Monday too. Any takers - I have a pass all things being equal.

If you could post to let us know whether you are riding on the 27th it will give some idea of numbers. Also mention if you anyone else is up for it i.e. Jim, Nigel (non forum users  )

I'm up for both of these (currently stuck on a dietary plateau at 14 1/2 stone) :!: Need all the calorie burning opportunities I can get  Assume "Triangle" at 9.30 for both?? Let me know either on here, by 22nd Dec, or text me (07792-298366) with any changes of start time/meeting point

If I dont see any of you before...Merry Xmas and Rum, tum-tum, tum, to you all, my fellow sportsfans :D

A work colleague is in the Welwyn WHeelers and I've said I'll show him the old classic hardriders course some time.

Anyone fancy doing it on the 27th? The ride that is.

Sounds like a good idea, what's the route again?

well its a bit flat then goes up a long hill through a village, flat again then down to busy road, then some lights and then left up a hill and then left and over some bumps, left down a long hill, take care, up a hill into a village where left then down another long hill, left halfway up the next hill, drags a bit then along a bit of flat bit, right, more flat, then right and down a hill and up a hill, then right past memorial, then lumpy past a pub and down the hill you went up second before last, then up into village and then down a tricky hill then up a really, really nasty hill, then nice flat bit with small roundabouts, then flat past houses over small bumps, left, down a hill, up a hill, down a hill, left in village, bit of flat, then up a horrible hill that goes on and on and on, left onto road through woods, then right and twisty and then go past place where we do our race, then right here, down a nice lovely, long really fast bit for a long time, into big town, left and long nice flat bit where finish back to where you started (assuming you started there in first place)

25 miles and if I gave you names then you would drop me but then again most of you know the classic course anyway

yeah, right, I followed that route. Is that the one that starts down south of Hertford - like down near where I live? - certainly up for that if there's a giggling group out for a fun ride around the course

Sounds good, I know and love those hills, shame we miss Vineyards, either direction.

If anyone wants a cuppa, what about the Riverside ?

Mr Twenty, I wouldn't recommend fixed on that course!

I would enjoy the hardriders but equally a longer "fat burner" might be a more sensible option. I will enjoy whatever, go with the flow, see you all at the triangle.

That gave me 5 mins off eating and drinking, now back to the sofa.

I agree with you there Roger, I am def in favour of a longer fat burning ride as there is more to burn now
I went out for an hour on christmas day, wasn't going very fast round a corner and my wheels slipped and I landed smack on my hip - nice bruise was the result. If that was anything to go by I think its best to stick to the main roads, espcially in a group where you don't only bring yourself down but others as well. Hardriders circuit's probably best when we're up for a hard ride too

I would agree Roger keep in zone two........what do you mean you've been in zone two all year!

Apologies for missing the ride. Sarah has a cold so I will probably get it too if I'm not careful.

Looked icy out there. Hope you were all ok? Did you stay on main roads?

The Welwyn guy who wanted to do the Hardriders route couldn't make it anyway. Maybe we can do it late Jan, could even do it on a Sunday as it's such a short ride (then again could do it twice on a Saturday!).

Icy it was. Stuck to the main roads up to Hitchin, Letchworth and then the 507 to Cumberlow Green before tapping back through Walkern.

Frost lying on the fields in the same way that 'Good King Wensaslas' likes his pizza - deep and crisp and even

Get over that cold.
