It has now been confirmed that our race will be on 3rd September after all, but due to the encroachment of the Anglia Sport on to our traditional 1st weekend in September date , for this year it will be promoted as a 3/4/J rather than our usual 2/3/4.

Distance is likely to be 6.5 laps of the Littlebury Circuit instead of the usual 8.5 laps.

With more and more events to fit on the calendar, there's going to have to be fewer 2/3 races going forwards. Derek Lusher has said that he won't issue permits for races that overlap by two categories or more, so the only way to promote a 2/3 is by promoting on an empty weekend, or on the same day as a National A/B - and there aren't many of those in the region.

There are still plenty of blank weekends, though catering in one weekend for all categories is good.

'Usual'. What happened to the 'usual' open Fallling Leaves Autumn Classic over 12 laps? A real race won on one occasion, if I recally correctly, by a certain R. Hare.

You flatter me!

In 1993 it was very fortuitously run the day of the National RR, so was a mainly local 1st cat field. I got a kicking the year after when the real riders returned! Big ring only uphill with Glen Holmes.
12 laps = 13 climbs of course. Gotta have good legs not to buckle when Gary B et all turn the screw

Not sure we've ever done 12.5 laps - I think 10.5 is the most we did for the E/1/2/3. It's been a 2/3/4 for the last few years.

BUt to answer the question, we are only a small club and running 2 open road races, an open TT plus all the club events was felt to be too much for a club of our size, so we took the decision to drop the E/1/2/3.
