Easterley Falling Leaves Road Race

04/09/2005

On a very hot and windy the event was dominated by Cambridge CC with four of the first six places. By the third lap the winning breakaway had formed; Douglas Bradshaw, Dan Staite, Dean Shannon & Sean Kilroy (Glendene CC). These four riders stayed away to take the first prime (Doug) and the second prime on lap 5 (Dan). Sean was dropped on the following lap and the three remaining in the break stayed together until the last lap when Doug attacked with about half a lap to go. By the finish line he had a lead of 1.56 over the two chasers. The sprint for second was won by Dean.
